Job Description:

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to conduct financial, operational and compliance audits throughout the organization.  The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Assist the Supervising Auditor, Manager, or Senior Manager with the performance, review, and test of assigned functions and activities.
  • Perform and document audits in accordance with audit standards and clearly report findings to the senior audit management team and the business partner.
  • Interview key associates involved in an audit to understand, document, and discuss activities and key controls for areas reviewed.
  • Generate a report at the conclusion of an audit that includes comments and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and utilize problem-solving and analytical abilities to suggest operational enhancements for areas reviewed during an audit.
  • Perform store visits, observe physical inventory counts, and review compliance of store operations with established company policies.
  • Provide assistance to external Auditors as required.
  • Complete job performance reviews when acting as in-charge auditor on various projects.

  • Minimum age of 21 years old due to the education and experience required.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
  • Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects.
  • Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.
  • Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines.

The following qualities are helpful:

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of internal controls.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Analytical abilities.


Education:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or related field, plus two (2) years' experience in auditing, accounting, data processing, or any related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
