The primary purpose of this position is promote and protect the Rite Aid brand among key internal and external stakeholders including news media as well as provide effective communications and issues management counsel in support of the Company's key business objectives and philanthropic efforts.
Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Serve as a primary spokesperson for the company as required and oftentimes in real time, fielding inquiries from all media outlets. Build positive working relationships with national, regional, local and trade media, including across digital platforms. Proactively engage with media as appropriate to tell the Rite Aid story. Manage incoming media inquiries in a timely and helpful manner. Support leaders and other spokespeople with messaging and media training
Represent the organization as the primary contact. Interact with management and senior value-chain partners on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines. Achievement of objectives requires ability to influence others both internally and potentially externally.
