The Software Asset Analyst provides support for the Software Asset Management Framework (SAM). SAM provides a framework and set of processes that strategically track and manage the financial, physical, licensing and contractual aspects during the life cycle of software assets. The SAM discipline aims to create a dependable account of software asset costs and risks, providing support for software strategy, architecture, service management, funding and sourcing decisions. SAM is the focal point for data analysis to support the effective management of organizational software assets whether owned and managed by IT, third-party service providers or business units outside IT. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze exception data to identify potential breaches of policy and their causes; investigate and report on license compliance issues or shelfware and remediation options.
Monitor changes to license terms and conditions, alerting stakeholders to licensing changes that are relevant to them and arranging licensing briefings as appropriate.
3 years of experience in in SAM or certified by a recognized national or international IT or IT asset management professional association required.
Knowledge of various types of vendor software contract and license models including but not limited to the following model types: named-user, concurrent user, hardware platform or device-based, role-based, employee -based, financial - based, transaction - based and other types of models.
Experience with asset management systems.
Experience with software inventory tools
Understanding of IT software asset life cycle stages and activities
Understanding and use of reporting tools
