The primary purpose of this position is to provide oversight for all clinical programs and initiatives in conjunction with Regional, District Leaders and Pharmacy Services to improve business results and patient outcomes. This includes Quality Assurance , adherence improvement, CPR and APhA training, Pharmacy Board responses, regulatory responses, escalated pharmacy complaints of clinical nature and overall pharmacy knowledge support to regional and district leadership. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Provide support in the planning, development, execution, and monitoring of clinical and pharmacy initiatives to achieve script growth, sales, margin, profitability and the overall customer experience; monitor performance reports and determine provide insight and support prioritization of appropriate action plans based on results.
Lead the implementation and training of clinical service programs to ensure proper understanding of all clinical initiatives by our pharmacists in coordination with field operations teams.
Advocate for regulations and bills supporting the increased role of pharmacists in healthcare management as requested by the government relations team. Strengthen the company’s relationship with regulators and promote the expansion of pharmacists in clinical care. Serve as a contact for other healthcare professionals and professional organizations when clinical services are involved to properly represent our pharmacists’ role in clinical services.
Communicate, monitor and support our core clinical initiatives like Medication Therapy Management, Pharmacist Immunization, and adherence programs sites to provide profitable programs that improve our patients’ health.
Partner with Asset Protection Leaders to monitor and maintain proper compliance with all federal/state regulations including DEA, HIPAA, ADA, CIA, etc, and resolve any issues with noncompliance implementation or training required to bring store/individual into compliance.
Utilize key performance indicators to monitor and support customer satisfaction improvement, quality assurance, and workflow standards to provide a superior customer and associate Rite Aid Experience.
Participate in developing succession plans for District Leaders and all key pharmacy positions, partnering with their Regional VP including pharmacist devlopment plans
Conduct frequent store visits to certify store teams are in compliance with will-call, deletes, workflow, replenishment, inventory control, DEA controls and overall company standards of operation in the pharmacy.
Provide pharmacy knowledge support to their Regional and District Leaders as needed for pharmacy centric programs and concerns. Responsible for Rite Prescription Peer Review coordination and participation.
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

The following qualities are helpful:
Ten-key punch speed of four thousand (4,000) SPH.
Typing speed of forty (40) WPM.
Proficiency with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
BA/BS in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
Three (3) years of experience in Pharmacy Management or health care administration required.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing for the state in which one works. If not licensed in the state where position is based, ability to become licensed in that state required.
• Certification as an Immunizing Pharmacist required.
