The primary purpose of this position is to supervise all aspects of the maintenance performed on company aircraft. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Supervise maintenance and repairs on assigned aircraft, engines, and avionics; ensure the maintenance and repairs completed by Aircraft Mechanics is done properly, safely, and in a timely manner.
Establish and maintain records required by Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), aircraft and parts manufacturers, and company policies; monitor all maintenance records maintained by outside agencies.
Create an efficient and timely schedule for the maintenance, repair, periodic inspections, general overhaul, and modification of company aircraft.
Establish maintenance safety rules and procedures to ensure safe maintenance and line operations are in place and assist with the developmental policies and procedures making sure Aircraft Mechanics and Line Service associates are aware of company and aviation policies.
Establish programs for maintenance technician proficiency in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and company requirements.
Assist with monitoring security and environmental affairs, including the completion of material safety data sheets (MSDS), with regard to all chemicals utilized by department personnel, fire drills and safety training.
Establish aircraft handling procedures and the requirements for hangar space, grounds, and a fuel farm; oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the aviation hangar and office facility.
Assist with preparation of the departmental budget and the assessment of aircraft cost analyses.
Establish and maintain spare and ground support equipment inventory; oversee the compliance of minimum equipment list (MEL) maintenance procedures.
This position directly supervises Aircraft Mechanics, Line Service Associates, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Seven (7) years' of experience in Aircraft Maintenance required.
