  • Job Description


    The primary purpose of this position is to develop, analyze, regulate, and maintain access controls to company information and resources within a multi-platform processing environment for all associates. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.


    The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

    • Support end users with complex access needs and password problems, provide prompt customer service, and safeguard confidentiality of information
    • Train new and existing staff members on new procedures and provide assistance with complex system requests
    • Review, analyze, and report on the vendor reports analysis, assigned by management and create fixes and responses to any issues the reports establish; act as a lead in the report analysis for the rest of the team
    • Monitor security systems, identify potential security violations, and escalate for assistance when necessary
    • Analyze and develop security controls, techniques, and procedures for new systems and technologies
    • Maintain relationships and correspond with outside vendors and outside security partners
    • Assist with establishing user IDs and passwords for new associates and granting access to data as required for users’ job functions as well as maintaining the system for terminations and other organizational changes
    • Provide on-call support for critical Security systems
    • Plan and execute a daily work process around outstanding security requests

    Experience / Requirements

    • Five (5) years' of experience in data security and working with mainframe and enterprise-wide security systems required
    • Or equivalent education in lieu of experience
    • Detailed knowledge of OS/390 operating environment and system resources, including TSO, CICS, datasets, JCL, and SMF reporting
    • Working knowledge of other platforms and environments, such as AS/400 or UNIX


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Computer Science required
    • CISSP, CEH, SECURITY+ required
